If you would like to be sent an invoice, please email admin@lawcf.org.

When will I receive confirmation of booking?

After placing an online booking, automatic confirmation is sent by email.

I can’t tell if my online booking was successful.

If you have received an email confirming your event booking, the place is confirmed. If at any point you are unsure,

please email admin@lawcf.org and we will double check.

Is any funding or support offered to attend the conference?

We do not want anyone to be excluded from attending the conference due to financial restraints. In individual cases,

a subsidy can be granted upon request. Please contact Mhairi Hamilton for more information: mhairi.hamilton@lawcf.org

I would like to sponsor a place so that someone else can attend.

This is possible through the booking site. Alternatively, you can contact C&J or LCF directly. Thank you so much for your generosity!

Cancellations & Refunds

What happens if I can no longer attend the Conference?

50% of the booking charge will be refunded one month prior to the event.

For cancellations of less than one month we would not normally expect a refund to be made.

Travelling within Europe

Arriving from abroad

Tegel is the closest airport (45 mins), but Schönefeld is not too far (1 ½ hours across Berlin).

Spandau is the local area (about 45 mins/1 hour from central Berlin).

Travelling from Schönefeld

Option 1 – Regional trains

Regional train RB 14 (18616) runs directly from Schönefeld Airport to Spandau, passing through Hauptbahnhof (55 minutes).

It may not be worth waiting for RB 14 at Schönefeld, if you have another train connecting you on to the main line (Ostbahnhof, Hauptbahnhof, etc.), because from there, more local trains go to Spandau.

Option 2 – ICE trains

ICE and EC Trains going north connect Berlin Main Station (“Hauptbahnhof”) and Berlin-Spandau Station within just 8 minutes.

Please note that this journey costs 6-8 Euros depending on the train.

You then need to take a bus from Spandau Station to Johannesstift (15 minutes).

You can easily check train information here: https://www.bahn.de/en/view/index.shtml

Travelling within Berlin

How much does it cost to travel on public transport?

Tickets for public transport are available at all sales outlets of the BVG, Berlin's public transport company. For all of central Berlin,

tariff zone AB applies. If you cross Berlin's city limits to travel to Potsdam or Schönefeld Airport, you will need a ticket for tariff zone ABC.

Tickets must be validated when you commence your journey. When using regional, city and metro trains, tickets must be validated on the platform before boarding trains. On buses, you are required to show your tickets to the driver and the entrance is generally from the front door.

Watch this video on how to get around the public transport:

Where can I buy a ticket?

The best place to buy your ticket is at one of the many BVG and S-Bahn Berlin retail outlets or at the ticket machines right in the station. The machines are in 6 languages (German, English, French, Spanish, Turkish and Polish), are easy to use and can be operated

24 hours a day. The regular fare applies to adults and the concession fare is for children from 6 up to and including 14 years of age.

Children under 6 years of age don’t require a ticket.

The conference

Are any of the sessions optional?

There are main sessions and then a choice of practical seminars.

What format do the sessions take?
The conference convenes a variety of panel formats including main sessions, roundtable discussions and interactive seminars.

Is there a dress code?

The dress code is business casual. However, on Saturday evening the dress code is smart.

Networking & Socialising

Can I see a delegate list before the conference?

Due to data protection legislation, we have opted not to distribute copies of delegate lists ahead of the conference.

How can I interact with others at the conference?

Thanks to social media, you can instantaneously share your conference experiences with other delegates and the general public by mentioning @Lawcf_UK on Twitter, or using the hashtag #50Nations.

How can I find out about visiting attractions in Berlin and the surrounding area?

Tourist information can be found on https://www.visitberlin.de/en.

Access

What language will the sessions be in?

All plenary sessions will either be in English or German. A simultaneous translation into the respective other of the two languages will be offered using headphones (provided).

We will make an effort to secure some (whispered) translation into other languages on an as needed basis (at this point, French, Italian and Russian are covered, others pending).

Please help us and other participants by identifying the respective language groups and/or offering your skills.

I have an access requirement. Who should I get in touch with about attending the event?

If you have any access requirements, please contact us as far as possible in advance so that arrangements, where possible, can be made.

I can’t attend the conference...

Can I keep in touch and be updated?

Contact international@lawcf.org to sign up for updates!

Miscellaneous

Can my family attend?

There is no childcare provision at the conference. If your child is attending, they will need to buy a ticket.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Bring your digital device or pen and paper for taking notes. You will also want to have plenty of business cards handy for networking.

Will there be any books or resources I purchase and take home with me?
Yes! Publications available from the event partners will be available to purchase.

I have another question that isn’t listed here!

Please email admin@lawcf.org
